Your internet site updates
Unless you are very observant and visit each page on this site frequently, you probably haven't noticed the changes. You do visit don't you?
No? Oh well, you're here now so here goes:
Instead of advertising every Happy Hour, I've placed a marquee (sliding text line) at the top of each post to remind everyone when we are open and when our mystery meals are on offer.
The next changes aren't as obvious. Let Jillian show you where the first is. Follow Jillian's direction up to the top of the right-most column and you'll see this item:
As the titles suggest, you can now pay your membership subscription or for a name badge using credit card processed through our secure SQUARE account. It's very easy, try it in December when you subscribe for the 2023 calendar year.
The next change is found on the Advocacy page where I have added two Emergency Assistance numbers. As our advocate hasn't yet commenced work here, I've also included a link to the other advocates available within South Australia.
Almost last, but not least is the wide banner near the bottom of this page that links to the Military Shop. When you click on that link, it will redirect you to the Military Shop where you can buy a wide range of memorabilia, jewellery, clothing, tactical gear, and much more. Check it out now.
If you buy something after using this link, our Club receives a commission.
While there, you will see that our contact details have been configured to better meet the RSL's style guide.
So there you have it, what do you think about these changes? Let us know in the comments.

1 July - Happy Hour with Meal
Stock Photo |
Get in early. Don't miss out.
Meals are most often sourced from the Tanunda Lutheran Home and we provide you with two courses, a main meal and a sweet for $10.
You can't do much better than that.
We'll have our wood fire burning too, so The Hut will be as comfortable as ever with good company, good food, and drinks of your choice.
Come join us!

27 May - Don't Miss Happy Hour
Don't miss Happy Hour on 27th May!
This Happy Hour will be special because we're being visited by a ukulele group of which Paul (Ferdie) Fernandez is a member.
They'll play a tune or two, sing a song and entertain us.
But that's not all. Your club will also be presenting donations to several local organisations who help us run ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day commemorative services.
It's not one of our mystery meal nights, but snacks will be available.
Mark your diary to turn up at 5 pm on Friday, 27th May. We'll look forward to seeing you.

ANZAC Day 2022 Went Well
ANZAC Day at Tanunda went well.
Given that Monday was a public holiday during school holidays, we had an enormous turn-up at both the Dawn Service and the late morning Service after our march from the Tanunda Post Office to the Soldiers' Memorial Hall. The highlight of the Dawn Service was perhaps an address delivered by a senior school student (image at left) from the local Faith Lutheran College. Given the age of the young man, his presentation was flawless, the content emotive and inspiring, and he didn't appear to be the slightest nervous.
After the Dawn Service, we held a Gunfire Breakfast that many people attended. Our bar volunteers served beer including large amounts of Coopers stout, a beverage that doesn't usually sell well during the rest of the year.
Small amounts of Beenleigh rum made its way into coffee, a tradition on this special day.
The Gunfire Breakfast was also attended by a contingent of RAAF serving members who had participated as a catafalque party (you can see several in the image above) or supported them.
Here they are outside our Hut. Those with weapons are obviously part of the catafalque party.
